RURAL EVENTS

Events in Rural Australia are the heart of rural communities, they bring people together in time of drought, rains, joy and pains. They are worth capturing and celebrating the power these event have on creating connection, supporting the community and businesses and giving us all something to look forward too.

Community events are often run by amazing, inspirational community members that are passionate about living rurally and creating a community that is proud of being rural, they are often people who where many hats and volunteer their time to make sure these events still happen. Thankyou!!

As a rural mum with three young kids and a being married to hardworking farmer, these events are the times that we get to get to tools down or sometimes if were are involved in a volunteer capacity, we tool up. It is a time for us as a family to socialise, relax and connect with the community we love so much. Field days, workshops and drought smokos are ways we connect with like minded people, while festivals, Rugby club days, shows and street events invest in our small towns, bring families together, showcase local and regional small businesses and let our towns shine. The events may be few between and often placed to work around the farming seasons, and having them documented to promote, showcase and share with everyone is important in increasing engagement with locals and visitors, telling us through visuals that rural life and small towns are resilient, creative and awesome.
