Just the kids

Emma contacted me, about a session just before Mother's Day, some photos of her kids. ONLY her kids. Emma didn't want to be in any photos, and wanted the photos as gifts for the grandparents on Mother's Day.

I wanted Emma in the photograph's too as, mamas are rarely in the photos, and that is something I want to change. Mama's get in the photos.

I couldn't convince Emma to get in the photos, and that is ok too. There will come a time, and I will be ready for when she is roaring to get into the photos with the kids. In the meanwhile, I loved being able to have a little time with her three beautiful kids, and capture some goodness especially for the grandies!

All three of these farm kids, brought their personalities into the session two folds, and it was AWESOME!

I loved being able to prompt them to play games like duck, duck, goose, or dance to the bluey theme song and have running races. These prompts I use help the session go quicker for kids, and make it interactive, fun and gets them to come out of their shell or parents shadows and enjoy the process of spending sometime in the golden light with me lunging around like a gazelle with a camera in their face.

I will ask kids things like,

"ohhh woow, look at that dress your wearing, can you show me what it does when you spin like a dancer?

"Can you show me how quickly you run upto that tree and back?"

"What is like to have a little brother? What do you like to play with him?

"Can you show me how big your squeezie cuddles are with.....?

These prompts help get kids relaxed, interacting and having fun, and create natural moments of connection and fun that are the memories I love to capture.
